Carriwell Seamless Gelwire Nursing Bra Review

If you’re a woman or a mum its safe to say you will have most likely worn a bra at some point in your life. Therefore I’m sure you’ll know how amazing it feels to remove the said bra after a long day (especially if you’re heavily pregnant AND during a heatwave like me).. Having a decent nursing bra that fits well is essential now that I’m getting closer to my due date so I was super excited to recieve the Seamless Gelwire Nursing bra from Carriwell to review.

Every pregnant or feeding mama knows the struggle when it comes to finding a bra that fits well and isn’t uncomfortable for your swollen leaky breasts (not a pretty thought I know). When I came across the carriwell gelwire bra I had no idea it was going to be so good. Now that I’m 35 weeks pregnant, I’m starting to have to wear bras to bed again and for the last few weeks I’ve been struggling to not only find something that fits well, but to find something that is actually comfortable and doesn’t make me feel like I’m wearing a restricting sports bra.

Gone were the days where I could walk into any store and pick up a cute bralette because now that I’m a mum, it’s all about the comfort and the carriwell gel wire nursing bra is an absolute game changer. I’ve tried out a handful of different nursing bras this pregnancy and the gelwire bra has to be my favourite of them all. Not only for the fact that it brings you ultimate comfort but for the design and practicality too. One thing that I never actually realised last time was that nursing bras can be worn all through your pregnancy, they’re not just for feeding.

The bra comes in 2 colours, Black or White and in 4 sizes, Small, Medium, Large and XL, I wasn’t sure which to choose at first as usually I’m quite small but of course with my milk coming in I opted for a size medium to be on the safe side and it is the perfect fit. However it does come with a free bra extender which is always handy. The gelwire feature of the bra is unique and I’ve never seen anything quite like it before. It’s one of those bras that gives you that extra lift without squashing anything and needing a push up bra to do the job for you. It is also really comfy and doesn’t leave imprints on your body like a regular wire bra.

With breastfeeding in mind I’ve been trying out the nursing clips and they are really easy to get up and down for feeding. I’m looking forward to using it to its full advantage when babygirl arrives over the next 5 weeks. I usually wear strappy tops and it’s normally pretty obvious when I’ve gone for a nursing/maternity bra rather than a wired bra but with the carriwell bra you can hardly tell at all and it doesnt make me feel self conscious in the slighest, in fact I think I actually feel more comfortable in this bra. The best thing about the Carriwell bra besides the comfort is the fact that it’s the only bra to ever be reccomended by lactation consultants which I think is amazing. I know that feeling huge and uncomfortable is a given when heavily pregnant but even something as simple as a good fitting comfortable bra is enough to make you feel better about yourself.
